Deadly Nightshade Banishing Spell Jar
Every spring a wonderful patch of ‘Belladonna’ (Deadly Nightshade) blossoms at the side of our little cottage shop, Envision Crystal. First, we see lush green leaves, then tiny purple blossoms. The blossoms give way to bright red berries, and the berries turn dark plum-purple by fall. It’s an amazing plant to watch throughout the season, and many of our regular patrons love to sneak a peak on their way in to our magical shop, where they find many Deadly nightshade spell ingredients and supplies.

Banishing Spell Jar
When life gets tough and changes are needed, it might be time to banish problems from our lives. This spell bottle has been designed to banish whatever is no longer needed or wanted in your life. It can be applied to toxic people, situations, or ba hits. It can also be very liberating to banish feelings or experiences like depression, poverty, struggle, or insecurity etc.
Needed items:
Glass Bottle with a cork or stopper
Parchment paper
Red, black or purple candle
Deadly Nightshade leaves, flowers, or berries. (be forewarned, this is highly a poisonous herb if consumed.)
Optionally any other banishing herbs
Think carefully about your goal and gather your spell supplies.
Be certain of what you want gone, because this spell will banish it! This will be the end, for good.
A good moon cycle to work this spell is at the dark moon (or New Moon as it ay say on your modern calendar). The best day of the week would be Saturday or after midnight on a Friday going into Saturday.
1) Write a statement about the desire you wish to banish on parchment paper. For instance, you could write:the gossipy, mean-spirited atmosphere at work; or no good lousy man who keeps texting me and won’t take a hint. Be Descriptive and specific!
Be mentally clear about why you’re doing this work. It’s time to get the negative energy gone, and your personal conviction of why this energy or person no longer serves you will add power to your spell.
2) Begin by pouring a thick layer of black salt at the base of your bottle. (optimally use a funnel if the neck of your jar is small.) As you do, say aloud…
“By Ash and salt, your negative energy must halt”
Why Black Salt?: Black salt banishes and protects. Traditional black salt is a combination of sea salt, activated charcoal, and ashes from an incense/herb burning that was done with intention. This makes it a very powerful tool for bansihgin away any negativity!
3) Once your petition paper is folded or rolled up, drop it inside of the bottle.
Optionally you can anoint the 4 corners of your petition paper with any Banishing Spiritual Oil before folding it.
4) Add the Bay leaves and Deadly Nightshade. Pray and visualize as you work. Say aloud before adding each herb…
“By protective leaf of Bay, you are banished by end of day”
“Negative energy you must not stay, I release you, be your way!
From here on out I banish thee, my command and my words,
So Mote it Be”
5) Light your Candle!
It is best to secure the candle to the top of your jars cork or lid, this is so when the candle is done burning the wax will have essentially sealed the jar shut and in turn ‘sealed’ your spell.
Use this as an example!
You can also optionally drip wax over the edge of the jar for a meditative way to seal your spell before securing the candle to burn out.
Light your candle as you continue visualizing the best possible outcome. It may be a good idea to anoint your candle with a spiritual oil or roll it in some banishing herbal blend as well. Allow candle to burn all the way out.

How do I use a spell jar?
Simply write out your intention on the paper provided, perhaps including your name or the name of anyone else involved. Write out intention in the present tense.
“I am prosperous. I banish this negativity. I am protected” etc
If the intention is something you’re bringing in to your life, like money or love, fold/roll the paper towards you.
If the intention is something you’re banishing, like a negative person, fold/roll the paper away from you.
When the paper is small enough, drop it into the jar stating your magical goal, and put the cork back on.
Use a lighter at the bottom of your candle to slightly melt it and put it on the top of the bottle cork. Make sure it is secure, and light your candle to seal the top of the bottle, thus “sealing” your spell into existence.
optionally, use a lighter to drip candle wax all around the bottle cork and opening for a more meditative version of sealing. Or continue to burn candles on this cork every so often to add to the energy over time!

Bay leaf is a very versatile herb, often used for manifestation, wish granting, protection, and prosperity. A common practice is to write a wish or intention on a bay leaf and burn it in a cauldron, to send the energy out into the universe. This has become a tradition done around the Dark Moon as well, but can be used at any time!
Bay leaves can be placed in doorways, or the corners of a room as a physical representation of magical protection.
