Container magic is a type of spell where any vessel - a jar, small bottle, box, bag, or locket, etc - is filled with curated ingredients for a certain magical intention. Containers are often used when wanting to hold or sustain focus for a magical goal. This type of spell is found in countless magical traditions and cultures. The simplest way to understand a container spell is to think of it as containing and sustaining an energy. Other types of magic send our will out into the universe and we wait for the result. With a container spell, you are not manifesting and sustaining your desire.

If the intention is something you’re banishing, like a negative person, fold/roll the paper away from you.
When the paper is small enough, drop it into the jar stating your magical goal, and put the cork back on.
Use a lighter at the bottom of your candle to slightly melt it and put it on the top of the bottle cork. Make sure it is secure, and light your candle to seal the top of the bottle, thus “sealing” your spell into existence.
optionally, use a lighter to drip candle wax all around the bottle cork and opening for a more meditative version of sealing. Or continue to burn candles on this cork every so often to add to the energy over time!
